Join the SSN online for 2025 visiting Scholar Amit Kumar's seminar "Beyond the Classroom: How AI is Revolutionising STEM education".

Join the SSN, CDII and Centre for Regenerating Futures for this interdisciplinary seminar by 2025 SSN Visiting Scholar Dr Amit Kumar (Chitkara University). Amit will be joined in discussion by Luke Heemsbergen and Peta White after his talk, which will be chaired by the SSN’s Thuong Hoang.

For this seminar, participants will have two registration options

1.) register to attend via Zoom (a link will be sent to you via Eventbrite before the seminar). This will allow you take part in the discussion.

2.) register for the YouTube livestream. A recording of the livestream will be hosted on our YouTube page.

Beyond the Classroom: How AR is Revolutionising STEM Education

Augmented Reality (AR) is transforming the landscape of STEM education, taking learning beyond the confines of traditional classrooms. This talk delves into how AR is reshaping the way students engage with Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics by turning abstract concepts into interactive, immersive experiences. From visualizing complex biological processes to simulating engineering designs and conducting virtual lab experiments, AR bridges the gap between theory and practice, making learning more dynamic and accessible.

We will explore real-world applications of AR in education, its ability to foster creativity and critical thinking, and its potential to democratize access to high-quality STEM resources. By enhancing engagement and understanding, AR is not just a tool but a catalyst for inspiring the next generation of innovators and problem-solvers. We will also discuss more on Web-based AR tools developed to teach and evaluate fundamental concepts of embedded systems for university-level students. Join us to discover how AR is revolutionizing STEM education and preparing students for a future driven by technology and innovation.
