Deakin researchers affiliated with the Science and Society Network recently led an international colloquium on ‘(Con)spirituality – the merging of conspiracy theories with alternative spiritualities’. The timely event served as a central component of a project focused on addressing the surge in public health disinformation during the current pandemic. Titled ‘(Con)spirituality, Science and the COVID-19 pandemic in Australia: Material and Digital Practices’, the project is led by Associate Professor Anna Halafoff, along with Professor Andrew Singleton and Professor Cristina Rocha (Western Sydney University).
The project has been supported by the SSN and recently received a grant of GBP£40,000 from the International Network for the Study of Science & Belief in Society. Read more about the colloquium and find links to videos here.
